I know, I know... we missed another newsletter in May. Sorry about that. It's just this new album has been taking all our time. And the June issue is now coming in early July... better late than never, right?
It's been a long and time-consuming process with this album, starting in February and still working on the very last bits, before Janne Saksa mixes the whole thing (hopefully) this month. The first rough mixes we've heard from him sound great, so I have no doubt he will do a stellar job yet again with the whole album!
This month our light technician Mikko Skyttä sheds some light (pun intended!) on what his job entails. I hope you enjoy learning about the man that makes us look mighty good on stage!
Another month is coming to an end, another Amoral Times in the inbox... The recording of album number 7 is still going strong, and naturally that's what's been keeping us busy this past month. I decided to write a column for this issue about recording at home (which is what we're doing) versus recording in a regular, professional studio. There's also updates on how the album is coming along in that column, so read on...
first of all, sorry for missing out on the February issue: we were kind of "in between" news and deep into the work on the new album, so it basically slipped our minds...
But the big announcement is now official, and many of you have probably already heard: Amoral is now a six-piece! We're happy to welcome back Niko Kalliojärvi, our original singer, who will not only handle the growling vocals in the future, but also backing vocals and guitar! Read more about this in the press release below. But needless to say, we are beyond excited about this, and believe this will make us that much better a band!
Happy new year everyone! 2015 started with more of the same in Amoral World, as we continue to prepare for the recording of album number seven. There are still many song parts to practice, lyrics to be written, solos to complete, tempos to be nailed and arrangement decisions to make. Not much sleep lately, but it's all for a good cause!
Three nights 'til Christmas! I hope everyone is already in a holiday mood, the trees have been decorated, the smell of gingerbread fills the house, the Home Alone soundtrack is in the CD player and the eggnog is a-flowing?
As promised, the Amoral camp has a special Xmas present for you guys this year. And no, it's not that staged picture of me right there. As some of you might remember, we recorded an extra song during the ”Fallen Leaves & Dead Sparrows” studio session. Well, we never found proper use for this track, until now! May we present, our version of the Cure song ”Burn”!
